WATERSIDE WORKERS' AGREEMENT REACHED.
WELLINGTON. Jan 16 After a conference lasting for five dayte, between representatives of the waterside workers and the employers .throughout New Zealand, a working agreement was readied this evenr Practically all the shipping companies and about 4000 men are concernedi. - '- Full details have not yet been fixed, but these present no difficulties. The basis of agreement is that wages are increased two-pence per hour all round on existing: rates for ordinary and overtime- work. In some specified cases, such as the handling of frozen meat, the increase agreed to is threepence an hour. The agreement applies tq practically all ports in the Dominion, open and ti-dal.
