AUCKLAND, Jan 17 The Herald's San Francisco correspondent states that as a result of an interview between President TTa t and the Oceanic representative, it is announced that the -United States Government will pay mail subsidy of two dolars per mile to the line to carry mails from 'Frisco to New Zealand and Australia, via Pago Pago and Honolulu. This ensures a resumption of the 'Frisco service by the Ventura and Sonoma, which will be refitted as-" soil burners. It is expected that the vessels will be ready in June.
