WEDDINC BELLS

A very pretty, fashionable, and popular wedding was solemnized in Holy Trinity GhurGh yesterday afternoon at 2.30 p.im. by the Rev. Archdeacon York when Miss Cecil Vivemne Yarr rail, second daughter of our highly esteemed townspeople ■Mr and Mis A W Yarrall. was united in ; holy wedlock to Leonard F. de Berryi.B.A., headmaster of the Cobden -;Srtate School, and eldest son of Mr .and Mrs F. de Berry, old and esteemed residents of the town. A great deal of interest was centred in ;the happy event, and the church was .-crowded; To show the popularity of. = the young couple the church was beautifully decorated with white flowers : and r ribbons, and a lovely wedding floral bell was hung above the altar. The service was a full choral one, and as, the bride entered the church the wedding march poured forth. The bride.- : who was given away by her father, 200-ked the picture of happiness and was beautifully attired. She wore a white chiffon taffeta with handsome overdress of Limerick lace, and beautifully trimmed." She wore .a pretty embroidered tulle veil and; carried a shower bouquet of white roses and mountain lillies. She also carried a white prayer book, the gift of Mrs' York.

The bridesmaids were three in number, viz, Misses Maggie Kerr (chief), Ella McKenzie bride's cousin) and Hilda de Berry (bridegroom's sister). Thiy wore empire frocks of white ■mousseline de soil. The hems finished with broad bands of glace silk French knots, cross-pyer. • bodice of glace silk, finished with lattice ; strapped chiffen and ball trimming, -The hats "were of- wedgewood blue with •trimming to match. They Garried •shower bouquets of cornflowers with streamers of wedgewood blue ribbon. The bridegroom w_as attended by Mr T. Learmont, who acted as be&t man. and Messrs A. Yarrall and F. de Berry as groomsmen. The bridegroom presented the bride with a handsome pearl and goid xub'y the chief bridesmaid with -a pendant with pearls and rubies; the other two -receiving respectively a gold dagger brooch with pearls and opals and a gold bangle with pearls. • Tine bride's present to die bridegroom was a silver shaving outfit. '

The bride's mother wore black chiffon velour over glace with tucked chiffon, maltese insertion and Greek key pattern for trimmings, hat of •black and white embroidered chiffon trimmings of black and white plumes finished with a delicate pink rose and osprey.

Miss ,Yanall (bride's sister), bietix rose chiffon taffetta, yoke of oriental la;e with trimming of silk and ball trimming-, champagne silk straw' 'hat with shaded roses. Mrs de Berry (bridegroom's . motaer) black silk striped taffetta trimmed with silk Jace. Pretty black toque with augrette and hyacinth.

Miss I. de Berry wore a smart green frock with creme insertion and glxce silk white leghorn hat with tulle and ping roses. . ' ■■ :

Miss Gertie de Berry wore white silk silk muslin with" a blue sash with a pretty white hat.

A feature of the wedding was the very handsome dresss worn by the guests. The bouquet was the gift of Miss Neilly and Mrs. T. Thomas. - After the happy ceremony the guests were received at the Victoria Tea Rooms, and a splendid wedding repast pariakey, of. The rooms were tastefully decorated and the arrangements were perfect. .

The usual complimentary speeches were made, all in the direotion of wishing the young couple every happiness and prosperity. "

The happy couple left for : Kumara fey the 5. 15 train en route for Otago. They received a great send off, and carry with them the best _ wishes of tttisir numerous friends.

The wedding presents were numerous, and bore excellent testimony of the esteem" in which the young couple are held.

In the evening Mr and Mrs YarraU entertained the .young people at the Victoria Tea Rooms and it was an enjoyable occasion.
