WEST— CUNLIFFE.

A wedding that created a good deal of .interest was celebrated at Holy Trinity Church by the Yen, Archdeacon York at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The contracting parties, being Miss Jean Cunliffe, fourth daughter of Mr and Mrs William Cunliffe, Greymouth's oldest and most respected citizens, and Mr A. E. West, architect, of this town. The church was crowded with frieridj and well-wishers to witness the happy ceremony. T-he bride looked charin■insr and was attired in an Empire gown of ivory mervellieux trimmed ■with silk lace and silver facings. She also wore a • beautifully embroidered veil, the gift of a girl friend, and carried aY shower bouquet of choice flowers. She was given away by her father, and was . attended; by four bridesmaids, her two sisters Misses M. and R. Cunliffe, Miss- Ethel West, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Nellie Stephen-son. Tiiey were dressed in pale blue, and , heliotrope silk: with pleated skirts and Blouses, vests, of cream lace and insertion. They also wore pretty gold •band bangles suitably engraved with their initials,, the "gifts of the bridegroom. The groomsmen were Messrs A; and W. West and William Cunliffe.

The wedded couple left the churh to the strains of jthe Wedding March, nicely played by Mrs York. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at the residence of the bride's parents, when the usual complimentary toasts were given. The happy couple, left by the Hokitika train en route to the Franz Josef Glacier, carrying with them every good ■wish- for. a bright and happy futre. :
