The Newcastle Miners Committee of management, after two days' consideration of the question of the submission of evidence in camera at th c special -coal oourtj resolved that the Federation could not accept the evidence in camera. The resolutions will be' submitted to special meetings of miners' lodges on Mopday along Avith the suggestion that if either party refuses to give evidence because if it would bp. published it would be prejuidefal to their financial -position, th« court could examine siich evidence and decide whether the grounds of objection are sustainable.
The situation is now strained, as the president of the court has definitely ruled that he will accept in camera evidence in reference to the financial position of colliery companies.
