PERSONAL ITEMS.
Mr R.- Wallace, the well known com mercial traveller, is at present in town Mr J. D. and Mr M. Hannan arrived from Wellington by the Arahura yesterday. Messrs Michel (Mayor of Hokitika), | Russell -(Mayor of Brunner), Murdoch (Mayor of Kumara) Bruce (Mayor of, Ross) McGuigan (Westland County Chairman) and Harris (Chairman Grey County) arrived by the Arahura yesterday from Wellington. Mr and Mrs' Ferguson, of South Westland, arrived from Wellington by the Arahura yesterday. Captain Bignell, of Hokitika, was a passenger by the Arahura from Wellington yesterday. Mr Dalgleish, local manager of the Union S. S. Company, arrived from Westport yesterday. _' Mr T. R .Say well, agent for the Public Trustee, left for Wanganui yesterday. Mr and Mrs Shallcrassf left for a short visit to Sydney by the Arahura yesterday.
