REEFTON, March 29.
The Big River mine manager reports for .the week that in No. eight stopes the stone in back of uprise widened out to eight feet. I have been engaged stoping north on an average of five feet of stone. Ahorse of mullock came in yesterday, and divided the stone which is now two feet wide on each side of the mullock. I have also been stoping south on the same block on an average of two feet of stone, which is of- fair quality. In the intermediate, going east from No. eight stopes,- the face extended a further distance of eight feet on an average of ten inches of stone of good quality in No. seven. I started to crosscut last Monday from the east end of No. seven to intercept north and south block of stone that is in No. eight stopes, and have driven six feet. In the face above the surface air course I have been engaged stoping- on an avcrag-e of fifteen inches of stone. Seventy-eight tons of stone were tipped in the mine paddock for the week.
