The Berlin press give prominence to a startling conspiracy, organised by Boer settlers in German South West Africa, te raid the colony, steal all the horses and cattle, then join the natives in expelling the Germans. Andries DeWet, nephew of General DeWet was arrested at Windhoek as the ringleader with a number oE suspected persons. A quantity of arms and ammunition were seized. 1 (Received Oct 4th at 10.22 p.m.) Berlin, Oct 4. It is alleged that the conspirators intended lo surprise Windhoek and release the Boers imprisoned in the gaols and afterwards join the Witbois tribesmen on the Bechnanaland frontier. Another party was to go east and persuade the Basutos to join the plwt. The Boers arrested formerly belonged to the National Scouts and were iv the British service. A number of Boers at Windhoek disclaimed association with the- plot. PRESBYTERIAN CH URCH. ANNUAL MEETING Tho annual meeting of the Presbys terian Church was held on Wednesday evening. A very hearty vote of thanks was passed to the leaders' of these classes.
