Early Reaper kas only been two seasons at tke Stud and all kis stock skow tke trotting instinct in a marked degree (2) ELECTIONEER was a good performer and is also a most successful sire, kaving sired tke Member 2.19, Elector 2.18, Onward 4.48, Sir Hector 4.53, Candidate 4.49, Holds II 2.34-, and many otkers. (3) THE DUCHESS (bred by the late R Wilkin, Bsc*., wko imported a large number of trotting korses from America) tiottcd 2 miles in 5.9£, winning easily by 50 yards. Ske was one of tke very best marcs of kcr day and at tke dispersal of tke Brooklyn Stud was purchased by a Melbourne .stud master for breeding purposes, and her yearling filly took first prize at tke last Royal Skow in Melbourne. (4) ALBERT W holds a record of 2,20 and winner of 25 keats better tkan 2.30 Sire of Little Albert 2.17£ Dudley Olcott and Flying Tide, 2.22 ' (5) SILICA by Algona sire of Flying Jib 2.8 and Addic 2.22,j. (6) BERLIN (brotker to Mambrino Dudley 2.22) was tke best trotting ske ever imported into New Zealand. What Rysdyk's Hamblctonian was in America, Berlin kas been in New Zealand, kaving sired General Tracey, Kentucky, Mambrino. Abdallak. Fraulein (dam of Fritz), Puella (dam of Almont) and a kost of others. Wkile tke trotting korse exists tke name of Berlin will be a kousekold word in New Zealand (7) NELLIE was a very kigkly prized mare, owned by tke late Robert Wilkin Esq., and used in kis stud where tke progenitors of so many of our best trotters were bred.
