(per press association.) AUCKLAND, December 16. Dr Collins appeared at tho Police Court this morning, charged with manslaughter in connection with tho death at the Auckland Hospital of Wallace White. He pleaded not guilty. Tole, Crown Prose cut or, stated lie was acting under instructions from the Justice 1 Department. He called evidence in support of tho finding of the Royal Commission's report. Dr. Neil, in cross-examination, said that defendant did not display any ability in getting the history of the White case. Collins diagnosis was not a reasonable excuse for his action in making incisions. Witness protested aganist the operation, but did not refuse to administer chloroform. DUNEDIN, Dec 16. Sir J G Ward has been advised Jhat a new geyser has broken out on the side of the old pink terrace, Rotonialiana. It is playing continuously, and ri«rs to a height of 30ft.
