L 12,865 was put through the j tote for the two days, be'iDg an increase of L 3974. Results :— January Handicap — Ballarat 1, Prisoner 2, Waireka 3. Time, 118 ; div, LI 18s. Hack Hurdles— Obairi 1, Merry Boy 2, Hawera 3. Time, 253 3-5 ; divs, L 2 7s and L 2 6s. President's Handicap — Plaidie 1, Convoy 2, Mussel 3. Won by half a length. Time, 2 0 3-5; dirs, L 3 8s and 9s. Grandstand— A BN 1, Lifebelb 2, Prisoner 3. Time, 2.1 4-5; div, L 3 10s and 19s. Carnarvon Welter — Handsome Rose 1, Alas 2, Westerley 3. Time, 146 2-5 ; divs, LI 16s and LI 3s.
