MINE MANAGERS' EXAMINATION.

The following is the result of the examination of mine managers under the Mining Act : — First Class — D B Waters, Skippers'; M Russell, Dunedin ; R Bridley, Tepuke ; P Grayden, Thames ; J O'Sullivan and L Walton Thames ; A Wilson, Thames. Second Class — A Matherston, Hyde, Otago ; J H Berrie, jnr, Pareora ; F W Whit, Kuatuna. Battery Superintendents— A Jones, Waihi ; F Day, H Winrate, G Doveton, F W Hay ward, Thames ; W Clarke and B H Stafford, Waihi ; J W Lee and R W Raithby, Reefton ; J Banks and C Dixon, Waihi. . The following passed conditionally on compliance with the regulations : — J H Jackson, Karangahake, E T Bush and A G Williams, Thames ; J W Gray, H L Nookes, H Croucher, and W M 'Donald, Waihi. The results of the examination under the Coal Mines Act, First Class, are — J Carruthers and G F Turner, Shagpoint : W Leibh, Blackball; A H Kimihea, Auckland ; H Sowerbj% Westport. Second Olass — A B Waldie, Mokau, A Hunter, Invercargill ; W B Austin, Sheffield ; R Hill, Abbotsford.
