The Dunedin Presbytery to-day passed a resolution respecting the running of excursion trains on Sunday in connection with the opening of the new Roman Catholic Church at Waihola recordi g their deep concern at such encroachment on the day of rest ; that the Minister of Railways be approached to respectfully point that such encroachment is opposed to divine law in the fourth commandment and to the convictions of Christian people of this land ; that the employment of public property and public servants in this way is a matter which concerns the whole community, that ostensible occasion a religious service in no way lessens the guilt of Sabbath breaking but rather enhances it and the Presbytery earnestly request the Minister to direct that no further encroachment of this kind shall be permitted.
