Picquart assured Generals Boisdeffre and Gouse that it was impossible the secret dossier proved Dreyfus's guilt was equally applicable to Esterhazy. Picquart heard the officers remark prior to the court mastial that they believed the ease was the invention of the espionage bureau. .
