The Honße resumed at 7 30 p m. Ie committee on the Native Land Laws Amendment Bill, after farther lengthy debate Captain Russell withdrew his amendment and Mr Seddon's new clause was added to the bill by 30 to 27. The Orchard and Garden Pests Bill was oommlfered and passed through witht he amendments made by the stock committee. A new clause providing for the compulsory dressing of fruit trees was strongly opposed and discussed at grsat length. Eventual ! y the clause was retained by 4L to ID. Hon Mr Seddon laid on the table the printed report and evidence of the House Banking Committee. He aaid the Banking BiJl would be circulated aboat midnight.
