At the University Senate to-day, it was reßolved to call a special meeting of the Senate on the arrival of the Examiners' repcrt from England to consider their report, and conferring of degree* of honor and Senior Scholarships. The recommendation of the committee that mechanics be struck out of the statute of the medical preliminary examination was adopted. The Senate resolved that the committee's recommendation not to take any action in reference to draft ordinances of Scottish University Commialioners be received. Several petitions of undergraduates were reported on by the committee, and the Senate resolved that it was unable to grant their prayers. The following appointment of examiners for December, 1892, va< agreed: — Matriculation Latin and Greek, Professor Bond ; English, Mr H. Evans ; German, Willfam Clarke ; arithmetic and physics, Professor Sband ; algebra 1 and mechanics, Profeßßor Cook ; euc'id, Professor Aldia ; history, Professor J. M. Brown ; geography, Professor Gilray ; chemistry, j Professor F. D. Brown ; biology, Professor Parker ; Junior Scholarship Latin and Greek, Prof esßor Bond ; English, Mrs Evans ; French, Rev Turrell ; German, William Clarke ; physics, Professor Shand ; chemistry, Professor D. Brown ; mechanics, Professor D. Brown ; mechanics, Profesßor Cook ; mathematics, Professor Gibbins; geography and history, Professor Gilray ; botany, Professor Parker.
