ADMISSIBLE EVIDENCE.
Argument on the law point which was reserved at Gisborne in the murder case Regina v. Rolland took place in the Court of Appeal to-day before the Chief Justice and Mr Justice Richmond. The AttorneyGeneral appeared for the Crowo, and Mr Willoughly Brassey, of Gisborne, as counsel for the prisoner. The question at issue was whether a written statement made by deceased was admissible as evidence. Their Honors held that the statement was admissible and upheld the conviction.
