EAST AND WEST COAST RAILWAY.

Christchukch, December 7. At a meeting of the Railway League held to-day, it was resolved to appoint a paid secretary, who is to devote much of his time to canvassing and activity in promoting the objects of the League. It was agreed to urge on Government the necessity of placing before Parliament next session a scheme for the immediate construction of the main Trunk lines of the colony, including thi East and West Coast and Nelson Railway.
