Invercahgill, November 25. It has transpired in the course of the hearing of the application for an order of discharge in the case of Michael John Crow, farmer at Wairoa, that he had been guilty of fraud by contaacting debts a day or two before filing, and also buying goods without paying and selling them again, handing the proceeds to his relations. Judge Ward summarily sentenced the debtor to three months' hard labor instead of, as usual, directing the prosecution in the Magistrate's Court. The debtor was considerably taken aback, being apparently confident of getting his discharge
