MAYORAL ELECTIONS.

Wellington, November 25. ■ A good deal of excitement was felt here over the Mayoral election to-day. Councillor A. W. Browne was elected by a majority of 43. Wesitort, November 25. J. Hughes was retured by a majority of 82, as Mayor of Westport. Blenheim, November 25. For the Mayoralty election George Henderson was re-elected by a majority of over 25 over William Doualin after the keenest municipal fight ever known in Blenheim. At the local option polling, all the three wards resulted against granting licenses of all kinds by a majority of four to one. Hokitika, November 25. There was a keen contest for the Mayoralty election. The election resulted in the election of John Tait. The votes were— Tait, 172 j Michel, 106.
