SALE Of SECTIONS IN DOBSON TOWNSHIP.

A number of sections in the Township of Dobson were put up to auction yesterday at noon, at the Court House, by Mr Gerhard Mueller, Chief Surveyor, Mr Robinson, Land Commissioner, officiating as auctioneer. There was not a very large attendance of bidders, the majority of whom were residents either of Dobson Town or close by. Mr Mueller gave a minute explanation of the position the purchasers would be in. He said he was not prepared to explain to them in detail how the valuations had been arrived at, except that he could assure them that they were all made on a fixed principle, and in no single instance had they deviated from that principle. When two parties occupied a section jointly, of which there W6re some instances, they should purchase the section in both their names, and arrange afterwards amongst themselves. The rent, he said, would commence from January, 1886, in consideration of the occupants having already paid five months' rent. The sections were then put up for sale. Nine sections, from No. 120 to No. 128 inclusive, failed to elicit a bid. The other sections realised as follows : —
