RIFLE ASSOCIATION REPORT.

The annual report, of the New Zealand Rifle Association has been published, but it gives little information except a resume of what took place at the annual rifle shooting meeting at Island Bay in March. The balance sheet attached to the report shows that the receipts during the year were £1600 5s 3d, including £373 0s 6d as subscriptions and prizes, and £460 193 5d as entrance fees. The expenditure was £1586 15s, including £898 3s 6d for prizes, £103 for markers' wages, £112 6s 9d for the formation of the Island Bay ranges,. The expenses at the Island Bay meeting show so much heavier than at Auckland that complaints are made by the members of the Association that nothing is known of their meetings until perhaps a week after they take place. Strong opinions are expressed here that unless some change in the management is made next year's will fall through.
