EMBEZZLEMENT.

Wanganui, September 17,

At the Supreme Court to-day C. S. Cross, charged with embezzlement, was found not guilty.

The Hon. Robert Pharazyn, M.L.C., who was bound over to appear as a witness in Cross's case, not being present, Mr E. Shaw, counsel for the defence, drew the attention of the Chief Justice to this, and applied for Pharazyn's recognisances to be estreated, as he had not forwarded the necessary certificate of exemption. The Chief Justice said he would consider the matter.
