THE GEELONG MURDER. Melbourne, January 24. Ssme clue is believed to have been obtained in connection with the murder recently committed near Ge long. The police have found the revolver in a pond near the scene of the outrage, and also the bullet which has been proved was purchased in Geelong a fortnight ago. HEAVY RAINFALL IN VICTORIA. Nearly four inches of rain has fallen here since Sunday last, and the fall is quite unprecedented. QUEENSLAND REVENUE. Brisbane, January 24. The Colonial Treasurer made the Financial Statement in the Legislative Assembly last night, and estimates the revenue this year at £2,500,000, being an increase of £121,000 on last year. He calculates i there will be a surplus at the end of the present year of £SO,OOO. (Received January 25, at 10 p.m.) POLYNESIAN LABORERS' BILL. January 24. In the Legislative Assembly this afternoon, the Polynesian Laborers' Bill was brought up for discussion and read a second time. DISASTROUS BUSH FIRES. Sydner, January 24. Disastrous bush fires have been raging to-day iv the neighborhood of Newcastle, and have caused great destruction to the settlers' property in the district.
