HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
The House of Representatives on reassembling, thres petitions were presented by Sir George Grey. Mr Hall gave notice of appointment of Sessional Committees.
Mr Bunny gave not ; ce he would move for return of Civil Servants dismissed, amount of compensation paid others, and number and names of those so dismissed who bad been reappointed, together wi^h amount of salary paid to them under such reappointmenta. Mr Speight gave notice of exchange site of Auckland Synagogue Bill. Sir George Grey gave notice of motioD, asking for production of all correspondence, &c, re Pdtatere land. Also a motion for return showing amount paid to newspapers, other than dailies, for the publication of Government advertisements. Mr Hutchinson gave notice to ask the Government if they intended producing amendment to Marine Act regulating the number of passengers conveyed by steamers plying on coast of New Zealand. Mr Beetham, en behalf of Mr Collins, gave notice he would move on Tuesday, Address in Reply to Governor's speech. Mr Hutchinson gave notice he would ask whether Government proposed to in troduce measure for better regulation of Lunatic Asylums ; also, if Government bad made any representation to Imperial authorities relative to imprisonment of Maoris, and if Government would lay copies of any such correspondeuce on the table ; also, if Government take steps to regulate prison labor so as to prevent it coming into contact with ordinary and skilled labor. Me Levin gave notice he would ask if Government intended introducing an amended Bankruptcy Bill. At 3 o'clock the House adjourned until to-morrow at 2.30.
