LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.

Wellington, June 9. After the Governor's speech was delivered Mr Whitaker laid 23 series of papers on the table. Mr Waterhou3e gave notice to brin? in a bill to amend the law relating to married women's property. Mr Whit taker gave notice of the following cornmil tees :— Native Lands, Local Bills, Waste Lands, Private Bills, Petitions, House, and Library, the last three to b 3 chosen by ballot. On the motion of Mr Whitaker, Captain Fraser, Captain Bailie, Mr Johnston, Mr Wihon and Mr Whitaker were appointed a Committee to propose Address in reply. Tho Council adjourned till next day.
