ACCIDENTS OF THE SEA. Auckland, June 2.
The Southern Croßs, for Fiji, put back \ to KLawau through heavy easterly weather ; also, the brig Serin, leaky. The crew refused to work, as she was making three inches of water per hour at anchor. A preliminary enquiry has been held by the Collector of Customs into the foundering of the schooner Policeman. Intelligence has been received from Halifax from Captain M'Kenzie of the brigantine Peerless, which left here for New.York, stating that the rigging and sails were damaged" in a series ' of gales^ and that the water and coal and beef were exhausted when the vessel got to Halifax, j
