Association. ' The' printed document issued by the Council, after the meeting of delegates so far back as 19th June, 1879, bears upon the matter thus. — "The County will subsidise by ookl& kI ' fourth the value of all wdlfc formed by each Prospecting ' Association within' the Grey County," and again; " The subsidy payable 1 by the Goutity to eaoh Asso- .. ciatlon, not to exceed the sum<of ■ LSO per per annum." Now some people here say. that the County will at onc4 pay LSO into Bank to the credit of /the Association, while on the [other hand a.-nnmber say that the Council can only give one fourth ? : af subscriptions raised (L 50) ,, which is; of course Ll2 loa. Would you mind giving if me your opinion-? I notice? that at Tuapeka one third of the amount raised in the district has been voted by that OouncUV&nd ' it ' seems- ' tom e to' be : the ' correct view.
