The Liberal party is organising a determined opposition to the English occupation of Cyprus, on account of ifc being apparent that an allience is being entered into with Turkey for the protection of her Asiatic dependencies. The Liberals think that Ottoman mis-government precludes the possibility of an English alliance with Turkey.
