[press agency.] Wellington, Oct. 7. Sailed — Albion, for Nelson, West Coast, and Sydney. Passengers — Messrs Aplin, M'Guire, Leslie, Olernice, 78 immigrants for Jackson's Bay, and about 40 diggers. A meeting was held to-day, at which it was resolved to have a public demonstration previous to Sir Julius Yogel leaving the Colony, and to present him on the occasion with a suitable testimonial. All classes are invited to join in the movement. Chief justice Prendergast issued a rule of the Court this morning for a special sitting of the Court in reference to a letter sent to him by G. E. Barton, and in which he complained of the judges' treatment of him, and informad him that he had asked the Government for an inquiry. The Chief Justice said he had the Registrar's affidavit to the , Court proving the authorship of the letter. He therefore ordered G. E. Barton, barrister, and the writer of the letter, to attend at 10 a.m. on Monlay next, to answer for his contempt of Court, and in order that the Court might pass such judgment upon him as might seem fit.
