The, schooner Janet Grey was brought in last night in tow of the Dispatch. She is from Charleston in ballast, for a cargo of coal; The schooner Amarua was towed in yesterday morning by the p. s. Dispatch, in ballast. She is from the Bluff, and left a number of men on the Salander and Snares for sealing. After shipping coal here the schooner will (>o south about, pick up these sealers, and return. The arrivals at the port since our last have been three schooners and the tug boats Dispatch and Titan. The schooner Wanganui, 82 tons, John Blainey, master, was towed, in by the p.s. Dispatch, with a large cargo of produce from Oamaru. She left on August 14, and encountered bad weather throughout the whole voyage. Ou the East Coast she had N.E. winds, and on the West Coast light and variables, which considerably delayed the trip. She is consigned to Mr Duncan M'Lpan. Late telegrams from Port Chalmers inform us that the ship Parsee, from Glasgow, brings 444- souls, equal to 3324 statute adults, being the first hatch of immigrants selected by Mr James Adams. The vessel had. a great deal of sickness on board on the passage out, about 200 cases of measles, besides diarrhoea and other troubles having occurred. Fourteen deaths and two births took place. The ship Trent wastowed into the harbor same night. She brings 638 souls, equal to 52U statute adults. Thirteen deaths occurred on the voyage. She is a splendid vessel, and made the passage in 70 days from port to port.
