The following Hokitika shipping items are from the Register of yesterday :— The J. fl. Coleson arrived at the wharf yesterday from Wellington, which port she left on Wednesday last. Very fine weather was experienced throughout. She" was off the bar on Saturday, but seeing no steamers outside, ran down north again in order to meet the Dispatch, then lying off Greymouth. — The Freight , Company's brigantine Circe, with water pipes; and other cargo, arrived alongside the wharf yesterday. She sailed from Wellington on Monday. The schooner Jessie Nichol will leave Dunedin in a few days -for a six months' cruise among the jSouth Sea Islands. She will first visit Tahiti,.4hence to the Nayigawra, aud back to;QWgo:by way of the l'ijis. A man named Lyell, chief boatman in the Napier pilot boat, was killed on May 18. by being crushed between the steamers Paterson and Pretty Jan,e, ad the' latter was coming alongside the wharf He leaves a wife and two children unprovided for.
