The ship Duke of Edinburgh, with 209 immigrants for Wellington, was off the Puint on September 20, The Salisbury, with 280 immigrants, sailed for Wellington in the end of October. The number of nominations for immigrants sent Home by the la3t mail was 2361, as follows :— Auckland 181, Taranaki 05, Napier 172, Wellington 276, Marlborough 11, Nelson 31, Greymouih 28^ Hokitika 64, Christchurch 297, Timaru 194, Oamaru 41, Dunedin 308, Invercargill 280, Riverton 403. The nominations for October were 1025.
