Grey River Argus Oltioe, Monday evening. The amount of revenue received at the Custom House on goods passed for home consumption on Saturday and Monday, Sept. 3 and 4, was £525 13s Bd. The items were as follows : —

Melbourne. — The Herald of the 22ud ult. reports : — We have to chronicle a very quiet day of business in nearly all the import markets. There has been very little doing to-day beyond the usual supplies for actual com sumption, which is always at this period of the year extremely confined. Inquiries about flour have not been very numerous to-day, We have not heard of auy exceptionally large transaction being reported, Prices remain about the same — 147 cash, to Ll7 103 terms. Horsefeed remains in very good request. New Zealand oats are sealing at 3s 8d to 2| 9d for trade requirements, and Tasm;uiian ara inquired for at 3s lOd to hold over on speculation. Maize is a little easier in pricp, in sympathy with the decliue reported in the Sidney market. Bran and pollard are very saleable at Is Sd to Is 9d per bushel. The cargo of Mauritius sugar per Lady Anges was submitted to auction at Fraser's rooms this forenoon, before a very large attendance. The sale did not turn out a very spirited one. The bids of the trade for several lqts proved to be considerably below the vie\ys entertained by the sellers, and consequently a portion of the cargo was withdrawn, only about 4000 bags having been allotted amongst the different buyers present. The priges which have been obtained to-day fully maintain the current quotations of the market. Teas are moving off in good lines ; a parcel of 150 chests medium quality brought t>day Is G^d. Kerosene oil is not quite so tirm in value. Several small lots have been pressed for sale at auction, and thereby the market has been considerably injured. One or two very small purchases in twist, made by a speculator, have given to this market ft little better tone ; importers are asking higher prices for what is landing per Bnrnside. Barrett's is quoted at Is 7sd ; Raven, Is 6d ; St, Andrew V, Is sd. Other brands in proportion have also advanced.
