WELLINGTON, September 14. The following are the vital statistics for August Deaths
The deaths of persons not residents of boroughs occurring at hospitals have been excluded in all oases. The total births in the above boroughs amounted to 496, against 458 in July, being an increase of 38. The deaths amounted to 164 in August, being an increase of 27 on number for July. Of the above deaths males contributed 100 and females 84 Of the deaths 66 were of children under five years of age, being 40.24 per cent, of the whole number ; 39 of these were of children under one year of age.
