The Union Company's Taiaroa, Captain Pietersen, arrived yesterday, at 8 30 p.m., from Akaroa and Port Chalmars She left the latter port at 4 30 p.m. on Monday, and met with a lEresh N.E. wind to Akaro*. When about half a length from the wharf the steamer got in the mud at 9.30 a.m., and did not get alongside until 12.10 p.m. Put out forty ton*.of cargo and took in fifteen tons and left at 3.35 p.m. From Akaroa had very thick weather to arrival. The steamer leaves for We.lington and Mannkau via way ports at 3 p m. PORT OF SUMNER. Arrived January 13. Tongariro, ps , ?8 tons, Eansley, with imber, from Le Bon's Bay. SHIPPING TELEGEAMS. Auckland, January 13. Arrived—Eotorua, from the South. Sailed—P.otorna. for Port Ensßell. New Plymouth, January 13. The s.b. "Wellington, with the San Francisco mail, arrived at 4 30 this morning, and proceeded direct to Wellington at 5 30. She takes the following passengers from here:—Misses Sunley (2), Major Brown (Native Ccmmissioner), Eer. McNicoll, Misß Begley, Mea-rs George, Clarke, and Bishop. __.- Post Chalmers, January 13. Arrived—Arawata, from the Bluff ; Sarah and Mary, from Timaru. Port Chalmkrs, January 14. _ Arrived —Eingarooma, from Lyttelton; Maori, from Timaru. . Sailed—Oreti, for Bluff; Arawata, for Lytteltou.
