D. Lcvesou-GoAver’s eleven resulted in a draw, the latter team managing to hold up its end long enough to avei t defeat: Following its first innings score of •397 for nine wickets declared, Marylebone made a comparatively poor showing in tfie second innings. Besoming today with the score at 98 for Hires wickets, Leylnnd and HardstalF made a fair stand, but were dismissed for 45 and £6 respectively. With six wickets down for J 74, Allen declared. Levcnson-Gower’s team, changing the batting order, again opened badly Smith and Mitchell both being out before double figures were on the board. Sutcliffe-, who cams in at first wicket, played careful cricket and scored steadily. Assisted first by Heudren and then by Nicholls, the score was carried past the 200 mark, and at stumps the score was 2J-1 lor eight wickets. Verity was in form with, the ball today and took six of the eight wickets at a cost of only 69 runs. Maiylebone tried no fewer than eight bowlers.
