Tho straits convention was signed by the participants of the Dardanelles conference to-day. The convention was signed witu gold fountain pens, which the Turkish Government presented to delegates. Mr. Bruce, in closing the proceedings, testified to the delegation’s understanding and goodwill. They had established a new era in international relations, settling disputes by a common understanding. The ceremony was broadcast through out Turkey. An Instanbul message states that £O,OOO troops at midnight began the reoccupation of the demilitarised zones amid cheers from crowds, illuminated and beflagged buildings, and rejoicings in the public squares, where couples wit-re dancing. The mothers and orphans cf Turkish soldiers kill e-i on Gallipoli, carrying flowers, accompanied ex-servicemen who were placing wreaths on the groves of the Allied and the Turkish dead.
