BRITISH RAILWAYS ONLY LI DEATHS LAST YEAR ALL OCCURRED IN ONE ACCIDENT (British Official Wu'clcssJ RUGBY, July 14. An excellent record for'safety, unequalled anywhere in the world, was maintained last year on the British, railways as shown by the annual report -c,f the chief traffic officer. Accidents were l almost of the same low level as in previous years. Tho majority of the accidents wore attributed to lack of caution by ilia travelling public. In those accidents, the numbers of passengers killed and injured last year were 13 and 4OS respectively. The 13 deaths occurred in one accident, namely, a collision in Welwyn Garden City, and the number .compares, with seven during the previous five years. O-ses of injury show an appreciable decrease compared with the numbers oh the past five years.
