PRIMARY SCHOOLS.

AIONTHLY MEETING OF ASSN. SUCCESS OF AT ILK DISTRIBUTION .SCHEME. Representatives from tlie Gisborne Central, .Kaiti, Alangapapa, and I’e Ha para School Committees were present at the monthly meeting of tlie Poverty Bay Primary Schools Association. Accounts amounting to £26/18/-, including tho quarterly payment to tho Health Department, were passed for payment. In connection with the distribution of milk, the secretary reported that tho children at all the schools were eagerly receiving the daily supply. As contributions came in it was hoped to increase the quantity supplied to each school. At present four schools. Gisborne Central, Alangapapa, Kaiti and To Hapara, were receiving two gallons each per day, and the Convent and Awypuni schools one gallon each. The committee acknowledged donations from the following; The Mayor, A!>- D. AV. Coleman, M.P., £5; D. ,T Barry, Ltd., £2 2s; Drivers’ Union. £1 Is; Gisborne Savage Club. £2 2s. Labor Party, £1 Is; Borough Council, £2 2s; Labor Representation Committee, £1 Is; Power Board. £2 2s ; Licensed Victuallers’ Assn., £2 .‘ls ; It was mentioned that further donations had been- promised and should bo received shortly. Tlie thanks of the committee were tendered to Mrs Mcllrov for her good work in collecting funds.

GOOD PROGRESS OF DENTAL CLINIC. It was reported that the dental clinic grounds were ready for planting with flowers and shrubs, and it was expected to have this work completed before the next meeting. The thanks of the association were due lo Messrs. Aicken and Sons for a donation of timber for use in the building. Miss G. McQueen in her monthly report stated that good progress had been made in both clinics and the work was well in hand. There had been an interruption of two days to allow the rooms to be painted. Miss McQueen expressed pleasure at the work that had been commenced on the grounds and stated that it was hoped , that before long the garden would be in keeping with the clinic. A largo variety of plants donated lav Mrs Frazer already were growing well. A total of'l44'children had been attended during the month, and amongst these were 87 now patients. Operations were performed ns follows: Teeth filled, 287 permanent teeth, and 850. temporary - teeth ; teeth extracted, 9 permanent teeth and 158 temporary teeth; miscellaneous operations, 217—total operations, 1021.
