BABOON AND LEOPARD LOCKED IN DEATH STRUGGLE CAPETOWN, July. 12 Returning to Windhoek, SouthWest Africa, one day this week, a taxi driver was startled by agonising screams coining from the neighbourhood of the hills on the road about nine miles from town.
Ho left bis car and -went into the bush. Fifty yards from the road he saw a huge baboon and a leopard locked in a death struggle. Tbe leopard was getting tbe best of the fight when suddenly a troop of baboons, screaming and yelling.' rushed to the assistance of their kind. Seeing the horde of rescue] s, tho leopard turned to flee. His wounds, however, did not permit him to get far, and he was overtaken and torn to pieces. Dancing around with glee, the baboons proceeded to finish off their work by eating their sworn enemy. Tho baboons then solemnly trooped back to tbe bills carrying their wounded comrade.
