CYCLIST IN HARBOR
SKID ON RAILWAY LINE ON KAITI WHARF. An exciting incident occurred on file Kaiti wharf near No. 2 shed yesterday morning, when Air. W. Findlay, a middle-aged man, occasionally employed as a waterside worker, fell into tho harbor through his cycle skidding on the railway lines. In his fall Air. Findlay suffered injuries ;o his face and head. Air. George Dunn, a waterside worker, saw the accident, flung off his coat and dived into the harbor to assist Air. Findlay, who probably due to his injuries was their sinking. With great coolness, despite tiie struggles of the injured man, Air. Dunn brought him to the side of tho wharf and both lning on to the stringers Until a ladder was brought from the il’iroa, lying at an adjacent berth.
►several of Air. Dunn’s working companions assisted in lifting Air. Findlay to the wharf level, and la tor medical assistance was procured. Warm congratulations upon his promptitude in going to the assistance of Mr. Findlay . were showered upon Mr. Dunn, who is a powerful swimmer, and displayed groat'i resource in the rescue.
The bicycle which Air. Findlay was riding at the time, of the accident was recovered later from the harbour.
