FLEECE COMPETITION

T\'TF.E-DISTRICT SCHEME. WAIROA PROPOSAL. A selrmo to hold an inter-district fleece competition in which Hawke’s Bay,' Poverty Bay and Wairoa would participate," came before the general committee of the Poverty Bay A. and P. Association on Saturday.

Tho proposal came before the mooting on receipt of a letter from AD. M. G. 14. Williams, Wairoa, who stated. that as a member of the Wairoa A. and P. Association, Ire had been authorised by his committee to represent to the Poverty Bay and Hawke’s Bay A. and P. Associations the idea of tin inter-district fleece competition. ■ “We feel that with the cooperation of the Poverty Bay and Hawke’s Bay A. and P. committees, ’’ stated the writer, “some of the fleecen shown in these shows might he brought together in open compatiiiori at the Wairoa show, thus having representative fleeces from all parts of', the East, Coast. “Should, your committee favour this idea the., Wairoa Society could probably arrange that any fleeces at your show which are also intended to he shown at Wairoa, hould he put together after your show, held hi porno convenient place, and transported to Wairoa at a favourable time. Wo would undertake to exercise every reasonable care of them and return them after the Wairoa show in Jan nary, or otherwise dispose of them according to the wishes' of the owners.
