Air. J. A. Bush, president of the Federated Sawmillers’ Association, states that no increases in timber prices' will lie made, by sawmillers in any part of the Dominion till the Government investigation is completed, and tho Government is satisfied as to the measure of prices increase requisite to accommodate tlie actual rise in costs due to the new wages awards and working conditions. .Notification of a price increase by a firm at Taumarunui has been withdrawn. Tho sawmilling industry is co-oper-ating to tho fullest possible extent with tho Industries Department in carrying out its investigations into costs. In making tlie sliitc-nictit, Mr,. Bush points out .that the federation does not fix timber prices, but where the welfare of,-tho industry--and price considerations oyer the Dominion, as a whole are .concerned,' the wishes of tho parents body arc respected,
