While exploring underground passages in a disused fort at Bastion Point, near Mission Bay, yesterday afternoon, a young man, Maurice Armstrong Elwin, a Post and Telegraph Department employee, fell several feet into water in a darkened shaft and was . dragged to safety by a companion, L. Irvine, just before lie collapsed. He is noiv.in tile Auckland hospital. His condition is not serious.
