CITY’S FINE RECOVERY
The fourth series of local senior matches was concluded on Saturday, when there was generally improved form. The outstanding feature was the recovery of City against Mnrist, in the A grade. On the first day Marist mado 99 and City only 27, hut on Saturday there was a complete change about: Marist made 87 in the second innings, leaving City 150 to make for outright victory, a task which was accomplished with the loss of only three wickets. P. Dow made 70 not out, and J. Carroll 42 and F. Bennett 34. In the B grade lI.S. 0.8. (B), with only 4G required for an outright win, scored the runs for the loss of three wiokets. Civil Service defeated High School B outright by five wickets; School, who made 80 in the first, wore dismissed for 41 in the second, while Civil Service defeated High School B outright by five wickets; School, who made 80 in the first, were dismissed for 41 in the second, while Civil Service compiled 95 and 29 for five wickets.
