Coinciding with Britain condemning Germany’s rearmament and treaty denunciation, and closely following German conscription, the British authorities have agreed to resume the pre-war custom of exchanging English and German army officers. Twenty officers from, various British regiments, and a corresponding number of Germans, will receive six months’ commissions in each others’ armies to enable them to learn the language. The German Government has long desired such a resumption. Herr Hitler strongly favoring it because it will enhance German, military jirestige abroad.—A.P.A.
