G.’Coates stated today, at. the opening of the Prudential Building, that the outc-Oine of the last year’s Budget was very satisfactory. Mostly due to reec.pts in the nature of windfalls which wit'.' not recur, th G year closed- with a substantial surplus, which has materially reduced the accumulated - deficits ca-r----riied forward for the years 1931-32 and 1933-34. ,He regretted that he was unable to announce any figures of the rpv-c-nuG and expenditure at present, as the clearing transactions for the year through the hooks of the Treasury was not .vet completed, and when this- work was finished the accounts had to he audited.
