• When Eiderdowns are Roiled.—Eiderdowns which ,n,re only slightly soiled can he cleaned by sponging with benzine. If they are dirty, wash them in a bath of warm water .in which soap has been dissolved and a little ammonia added to remove .grease. Do not rub, but squeeze and press the eiderdown, lifting it in and out ot the water. Rinse in water to which a little vinegar is added and press the water out, then sling the eiderdown on the line until it is dry. Shake it repeatedly while it is still fret.
