BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR MISS K. JEPHSON. PRESENTATION MADE. (Special to the Times.) The Farmers’ Social Room, gaily decorated with flowers in autumn tints, was the scene of a happy gathering when the many friends oi Miss Kathleen Jephson surprised her with a dance and social evening to celebrate her twenty-first birthday. Dancing was enjoyed by the young people .while others played cards. Dance music was supplied bv several voluntary players, and resulted in a jolly programme. Air. B. Alulhern acted as AI.C. Interspersed with dancing were musical items by Aliss B. Kelly, who rendered “To A Aliniature” and “For You Alone.” Air. J. Young was heard to advantage in his two selections, “Just To Linger In Your Arms” and “Love Everlasting.” Aliss Lettv Parkinson was the accompanist. Air. Parker won applause for his rendering of “Little Irish Rose” and charmed those present with his rendering of “Louise,” in imitation of the popular Alaurice Chevalier. Novelty dances were won by Miss I. AVilson and Mr Kelly, Aliss K. Mulhern and Air. P. Chambers, and Aliss I. Alarx and Air. D. Abbot. During the dainty supper which was served, Mr. Alulhern took the opportunity to extend birthday greetings and good luck to the guest of honour, and asked her, on behalf of thoso present, to accept a dainty dressing-table set of ivory xylonite. Miss Nora Hickey presented Aliss Jephson with a beautiful bouquet of roses. The 21 candles on the handsome birthday-cake were lit, and the cake was cut by Aliss Jephson and a piece handed to each guest. Mr. Jephson, on behalf of his daughter, thanked those present for the delightful evening and for the handsome gift which had been presented to Kathleen. These remarks were greeted with the singing of “For She’s a .Tolly Good Fellow,” and, at the conclusion of the evening, all joined in singing “Auld Lang Syne.” Among those present were:—Mesdames S.
